The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of durable fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners (that may break or bend). It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and baby. Moby Wraps are one size which means all caregivers can easily and comfortably share.

Moby Wrap comes with an easy to follow full-color instructional guide containing wrapping tips and safety information. With the single stretch cotton and the width of the Moby Wrap, your baby is wrapped close and tight, ensuring a secure hold. Babies to 35 lbs.
The Moby Wrap is an optimal baby carrier for infants. Parents of newborns are often prescribed to practice "kangaroo care," skin-to-skin contact used to increase birth weight, which can be easily achieved while wearing your Moby Wrap. The Moby Wrap is long enough to adapt to your growing baby. The fabric can hold up to 35 lbs.

Machine washable
Prewashing before use is recommended. The Moby Wrap is easy to clean. Machine wash your Moby Wrap in cold water and tumble dry low. As with all cotton items, slight shrinkage is expected during the first wash and extra length is built into the design of the Moby Wrap to accommodate.

Use Your Senses: Look, Listen, Feel

Look: Baby's face should be visible and make sure baby's chin is lifted off chest at least one finger space	Listen: For baby's breathing; reposition baby if raspy, loud or abnormal
Feel: Baby's skin temperature; remove if cold, clammy or sweaty

Warning: Positional Asphyxia (suffocation) can occur in young babies 4 months and under. This can happen when baby's chin is pressed against his or her chest, restricting airflow, as seen in the picture. Check to ensure that baby's airway is unobstructed and baby is breathing regularly at all times, especially when sleeping and after feeding. Warning & Safety Tips: Fabric should not cover baby's face. Always take common sense precautions when wearing baby. Take care when bending or leaning forward, as baby could fall out. Squat instead. Your balance may be adversely affected by your movement and that of baby. Not suitable for sporting activity. If baby resists being held in the wrap, gently take baby out and try again later. Do not leave the carrier wrapped around an unattended baby.

Moby Wraps can hold babies up to 35lbs, which is typically a 3 year old child.


Can you describe the differences between the Moby Wrap and other carriers?
There are many different baby carriers on the market today: front packs, slings, wraps, mei tais and many more. The big difference between slings and wraps is that a wrap uses both shoulders, as well as your back, to distribute the weight of your baby. Slings are worn diagonally across just one shoulder placing the weight of the baby on that one shoulder. Most front packs have narrow straps, buckles, or rings, which often cause discomfort or can bend/break. There are several wrap carriers available with a variety of special features: stretchy vs. non-stretch, cotton vs. cotton-lycra blend, solids vs. patterns, basic vs. embellished, expensive vs. economical, square vs. tapered ends, etc. Our advice would be to look for the features that are most important to you and choose your baby carrier accordingly. The Moby Wrap is made of 100% soft cotton. The edges are tapered, making it easy to tie. The Moby Wrap is currently available in a variety of solid colors, prints, UVs, batiks, and organics.


What is the difference between the Moby Wrap and the Moby d?
The main difference between the Moby Wrap and the Moby d is the distinctive fabric panel in the center of the Moby d. The panel is created from woven cotton or Asian silk. In addition to adding aesthetically to the look of a Moby, the woven and silk fabric panels add a section of non-stretch fabric to help support the baby. The edges of the Moby d are seamed rather than over-locked, ensuring that the Moby d will hold its shape after extended use. We also designed the ends of the Moby d with asymmetrical lengths so that the knot would be at the wearer's side instead of the front or back.

The center panel of my new Moby d is not in the middle of the wrap. Is it defective?
No, not at all. We purposely placed the panel off-center, so that the knot would land at the wearer's side, rather than your front or your back.

What are the washing instructions for my Moby Wrap?

The Moby Wrap is easy to clean. Prewashing before first use is recommended. You can machine wash your Moby Wrap in cold water and air-dry or tumble dry on low. Your Moby Wrap may shrink slightly in the dryer, but will stretch out again after being worn. Please note that the Moby d hand-woven cotton is not color fast and should be washed separately, or with like colors. Moby d Wraps with silk should be washed and handled gently. Washing instructions are located on the back of the Moby tag sewn into your Moby Wrap.

How does the UV protected Moby Wraps work?
The turquoise, sand, fuchsia, wisteria and Almond Blossom fabrics are treated with the Rayosan process by Clariant. This technology increases the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) without changing the appearance, handle or breathability of the fabric. You can imagine how excited we are to have this technology be part of the Moby Wrap fabric, which offers another layer of protection for baby's sensitive skin, especially before the age recommended for sunscreen use.

I washed my Moby Wrap according to the washing instructions and it shrank. Is that normal?
It is perfectly normal for your Moby Wrap to experience slight shrinkage since is made of 100% cotton. We have designed our Moby Wraps with extra length built in to accommodate for first wash shrinkage. If you are unable to bring the ends back to the front, try tying the wrap in the back: Moby Wraps are designed to be tied either at the wearer's front or back both are equally safe and comfortable.


I live in a very warm climate. Can I use a Moby Wrap?
Yes you can. Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and the natural fabric breathes keeping you cool in warmer climates. Wearing a baby in any carrier will create extra heat, so we recommend dressing yourself and your baby lightly and keeping exposure to high temperatures to a minimum whenever possible. Additionally we recommend wrapping baby in lighter shades including our Natural Moby Wrap (a creamy off-white), the Coconut Organic (100% organic cotton in an unbleached cream color) or one of our UV styles that offer SPF 50+ protection for delicate baby skin.


I am a plus-size mom. Will the Moby Wrap fit me?
Yes it will. The Moby Wrap is 5.5 meters long and will fit larger moms and dads as well. When wrapping, you would simply tie a knot at your back.

I am petite. Will a Moby Wrap work for me?

Moby Wrap offers a petite-length. Our wraps are designed to be "one size fits most", but we do make a shorter length for adults who are smaller and prefer less fabric. The great thing about a Moby is that it completely conforms to your individual shape when worn, so you will be able to achieve an extremely comfortable and ergonomic carrying position for both you and your baby. You can also try the original Moby Wrap - extra fabric can simply be wrapped one more time around yourself before knotting it off!

What are the working conditions in Thailand where your product is manufactured?
From 2004 until 2006, the founders of Moby Wrap and their family lived in Thailand where they set up a Thai corporation that manufactures the entire line of Moby Wrap products. They found a traditional Thai home in Chaing Mai and converted it into the Moby manufacturing facility. The salaried staff receives great pay, both yearly and production based bonuses, health care and a warm, friendly work atmosphere. Recently, Moby Wrap production has increased beyond the size of the traditional Thai home. The factory has moved across town, in a former textile factory. Most of the original staff is still with us, as well as several new hirers.

Do you use organic cotton?
We offer a line of Moby Wraps made with 100% Organic Exchange OE100 Certified Cotton. We also offer coordinating Moby Blankets and Knot Hats made from organic cotton.

I hear a lot about Kangaroo Care and the Moby Wrap. What does that mean?
The benefits of Kangaroo Care have been studied extensively since 1983 when neonatologists Edgar Rey and Hector Martinez first implemented it in Bogota, Colombia. Kangaroo Care consists of placing a diaper clad premature baby in an upright position on a parent's bare chest tummy to tummy, in between the breasts. The baby's head is turned so that the ear is above the parent's heart. Because of the width of the fabric, the Moby Wrap can be used for this purpose, covering up most of the parents body while providing this beneficial skin-to-skin closeness to the premature infant. For babies weighing less than 8lbs, please consult your physician or midwife prior to using the Moby.

I am concerned about spine development. Will wearing my baby in the Moby Wrap affect his or her spine development?
While worn in the Moby Wrap, the baby is supported by three pieces of fabric, reducing the strain on baby's spine. Be sure to spread the fabric not only over baby's back, but all the way down to the hollow of the knees in order to minimize the strain on the spine and provide extra support.
